Stringy Bark
Stringybark is a blend of eucalyptus varieties native to various areas of New South Wales. The texture of Stringybark is moderately fine and even with a straight grain. It is a light coloured blend ranging from pale yellow through to golden hues and light browns. Similar to Blackbutt in general behaviour but without as much sap veins which is common in Blackbutt.
Rosewood
Now scarce, this aromatic timber is a bit harder and heavier than mahonany with a similar fine interlocking grain. The deep cherry colour is very even as in the grain. Medium to large scaly barked tree of sub tropical and sometimes dry rain forest from Wyong to Gympie.
